How a 20 Year Old Beach Party Is Still the Biggest and The Most Talked About Daytime Event on Spring Break
For the past 20 years, Panama City Beach, Florida has enjoyed the distinction of being recognized as the Spring Break Capital of the World. Its gorgeous wide open 27 miles of sugar sand beaches, large open air venues, and generous hospitality attribute to its famous reputation.
The small beach town quickly grew in popularity for its high energy party scene, which included the Beach Bash at Sharky’s – a weekly event that promoted getting together with a few thousand fellow spring breakers for some fun, sun and entertainment.
Two decades later – and now renamed the Beach Bash Music Fest – Spring Break’s ultimate beach event still stands out among other Spring Break daytime parties as the one place to be at each week. It is here that popular music acts are able to perform to massive crowds on Spring Break’s largest beach stage. Sponsors are able to present their brands to thousands of students in the hopes of attracting a consumer audience, and all within a safe, fun and friendly environment.
Of the many live acts that performed in 2013, the biggest came during Spring Break’s peak week (second week in March). Award winning country stars Florida Georgia Line (famous for their hit song “Cruise”) performed a 90 minute set to more than 7,000 students, making it the most successfully organized ticketed event on the beach.
It was a concert few spring breakers will ever forget and will serve as a benchmark for what the Beach Bash Music Fest will continue to be for years to come.
