2008 Spring Break Celebrities

What a year 2008 was! Big name celebs rocked the beach up and down Panama City Beach infamous “Strip!” One of the most memorable shows from SB ’08 was the Paramore set right on the beach. Others celebs like 50 Cent, Brooke Hogan, Real World cast members and more packed PCB to the rim. Each year the celebs get bigger and party goes harder. Click here to see celebrities from 2009.


50 Cent

50 Cent, is an American rapper. He rose to fame with the release of his albums Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2003) and The Massacre (2005). Both albums achieved multi-platinum success, selling more than twenty-one million copies combined.

Born in South Jamaica, Queens, 50 Cent began drug dealing at the age of twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic.[3] After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, he was shot at and struck by nine bullets during an incident in 2000. After releasing his album Guess Who’s Back? In 2002, 50 Cent was discovered by rapper Eminem and signed to Interscope Records. With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre—who produced his first major commercial successes—he became one of the world’s highest selling rappers. In 2003, he founded the record label G-Unit Records, which signed several successful rappers such as Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo. 50 Cent is one of the richest hip-hop performers, having a net worth estimated at US $440 million in 2008.


Paramore

The power-pop-punk fivesome known as Paramore dates back to the band’s high school years in suburban Franklin, Tennessee. Lead singer Hayley Williams was just 14 when she met guitarist Josh Farro and his younger brother, drummer Zac. Jeremy Davis and Hunter Lamb joined on bass and guitar respectively. The group started off gigging in Nashville in 2004 and quickly rose to popularity in early 2005, when Fueled By Ramen (The Academy Is…, Gym Class Heroes, Panic! At the Disco) founder John Janick signed the band almost immediately after seeing them perform in Florida.


Brooke Hogan

Known by her stage name Brooke Hogan, is an American singer, actress, model, socialite, and television personality. She appeared on the reality-television series Hogan Knows Best, which focused on her family, and which premiered on July 10, 2005 on VH1. Since the cancellation of Hogan Knows Best, she’s starred in a spin-off reality series called Brooke Knows Best which focuses on her life now independent from her parents and living with two roommates. She released her debut album Undiscovered in 2006. In 2009, she released her second studio album, The Redemption, and will appear in a second season of Brooke Knows Best.


LL Cool J

LL Cool J, is an American rapper and actor. LL Cool J stands for “Ladies Love Cool James. He is known for romantic ballads such as “I Need Love”, “Around the Way Girl” and “Hey Lover” as well as pioneering hip-hop such as “I Can’t Live Without My Radio”, “I’m Bad”, “The Boomin’ System”, and “Mama Said Knock You Out”. He has also appeared in several films. LL Cool J is one of a few hip-hop stars of his era to sustain a successful recording career for more than two decades, with more recent singles like “4, 3, 2, 1”, “Headsprung” and “Luv U Better”.


DJ Skribble

DJ Skribble is an Italian-American DJ, producer, remixer, radio personality and actor. Skribble has released several mix albums, including two volumes of Traffic Jams, two volumes of MDMA, Essential Dance 2000 (on Atlantic Records), Essential Spring Break and Skribble’s House.

Skribble has also worked on MTV’s The Grind, Total Request Live, Spring Break,[3] Hip Hop Night and the Millennium Special Live. He has appeared several times on various radio and television shows, and appeared in the 2000 film Turn It Up, credited as ‘DJ’.[5] Skribble was also a judge for the 8th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists. He is also doing a new series on Spike TV called Sema Zone.


Brody Jenner

A celebrity who has found himself with that status from being born the youngest son of Olympic gold medalist, Bruce Jenner and for dating celebrities such as Nicole Richie and Lauren Conrad. Beginning a career in the public eye, Jenner first modeled for the fashion store, Guess? and went on to pursue a short lived acting career on the reality show, The Princes of Malibu, along with his older brother Brandon.


Kenny Stantucci

Kenny Santucci is a quintessential ladies man who joined the cast of MTV’s ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat’ as a new competitor trying to make it in a field of alums. Finishing second place with Tina Barta, a confident Kenny used his natural leadership abilities and sometimes arrogant demeanor to beat the competition. He was so well-liked by fans, that MTV asked him back to subsequent seasons of the show including ‘The Duel’ and ‘The Inferno.’  Kenny has been seen to during Spring Break at many of the BEST Panama City Beach Hotels.


John Devenanzio

Born and raised in Fullerton, California, John Devenanzio, AKA Johnny Bananas, moved to New York after high school graduation. There he drank and partied for 3 1/2 years before transferring to Penn State to polish of an illustrious academic career. After he was cast for MTV’s ‘The Real World Key West,’ it was off to Florida for taping. Johnny has an unpredictable mixture of charisma, kindness and intelligence, and he has a chameleon-like ability to adapt to any surrounding. After the show, he has been seen making appearances all over the U.S.
