For those curious as to how Panama City Beach is coping with Hurricane Michael, the good news is that there are now few signs of the storm that devastated most other parts of the Florida panhandle. In fact, many attractions, stores and restaurants on the beach are re-opening.
“We’re happy to see that every single day conditions are improving,” said Jayna Leach with Visit Panama City Beach.
The beach is bouncing back, and in fact, Spring Break reservations are strong. Much stronger than anticipated. This is great news considering the question marks that surfaced before and immediately after Hurricane Michael hit the panhandle. Originally, the eye of the storm was zeroed in on Panama City Beach, but it moved, and because of that, the beach was not affected very much and damage was minimal.
Despite the initial worry, tourism is flowing again and Spring Break 2019 reservations are steadily climbing.
